The Kidman & Keith Wedding
Nicole Kidman has officially beaten Tom Cruise back to the altar. The actress married country crooner Keith Urban yesterday at a clifftop Catholic chapel overlooking the harbor near her family’s home in Sydney, Australia. A-list pals included Naomi Watts, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, director Baz Luhrumann and media mogul Rupert Murdoch. Kidman waved to the crowd as a small fleet of white Rolls Royce shuttled her and the other guests into the compound in the suburb of Manly. Nicole wore a long, traditional veil over her head and a romantic, ivory Balenciaga dress with an Empire waist and exquisite pearl drop earrings. Nicole’s best friend, actress Naomi Watts, is said to have been a bridesmaid. The dashing groom arrived in dramatic style in a four-wheel-drive BMW, the front car of a convoy of BMWs, with helicopters tracking their every move from above. Rather than bringing gifts, wedding attendees were instead asked to donate to several charities earmarked by the happy couple.
Is Jessica Simpson Stealing From Madonna?????
If you think Jessica Simpson’s new single sounds familiar, TMZ.com thinks they know why. The website reports that the title track from Simpson’s new album, “A Public Affair,” sounds a lot like Madonna’s 1983 song, “Holiday.” TMZ notes that Jessica’s song is nearly identical to the classic Madonna tune, from the intro to the synth-pop beat. In fact, in an unscientific poll conducted by TMZ, every respondent identified “A Public Affair” as “Holiday.” A rep for Madonna has yet to comment about the story. Meanwhile, Simpson’s rep describes the new track as “a fun summer single” and says comparing it to Madonna is “flattering.”
