GAS STATION OWNER VOWS TO SELL GAS FOR $1.49 A GALLON!!!
There could be a riot in South Philly today. A gas station operator who is concerned with pollution and high gas prices, says that he’s leaving the retail gasoline business, but wants to end his 23- year business by giving drivers a good deal on gas. So Dave Lalli plans to sell gas at his South Philadelphia Sunoco station for $1.49 a gallon from 5 p.m. Friday until he runs out.  He says, “When they come for the cheap gas, they’ll get some information explaining what we can do as a community.”

Good Samaritans Actually HELP With Car Theft! 
Good Samaritans in Mesa, Arizona pushed and even offered an impromptu driving lesson to a boy who was struggling to drive a car. The only problem was… the 14 year-old was actually stealing the vehicle! Seems the boy stopped in mid-getaway to ask for help, and at least 15 people responded! Amazingly, none of the would-be Good Samaritans realized that the vehicle was stolen or that the boy was underage.  Sgt. Dave Norton of the Phoenix police said, “It’s incredible that an entire neighborhood would participate in this comedy of errors.  His looks and size should have made bells and whistles go off in people’s minds.” But, obviously, they didn’t, leaving police to catch up with the boy after some other folks spotted him driving erratically and called 911. The teen was arrested, given citations, and released into the custody of his grandmother…

Frank Murkowski announced the amount of the checks… which have historically been anywhere from $331.29 to a record high of $1,963.86 in 2000. Alaskans have been getting checks through this program since 1982.
