Dick Clark Has Died
One of the most important men in the history of radio and rock and roll is no more. DICK CLARK a.k.a. AMERICA’S OLDEST TEENAGER . . . died yesterday of a massive heart attack, after having some kind of outpatient medical procedure the night before. He was 82.
–As you probably know, Dick suffered a huge stroke in 2004 . . . but he continued to make brief, annual appearances on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” . . . which he created in 1972.
–As “American Bandstand”, the show went national and aired on ABC until 1987. It then aired briefly in syndication and on the USA Network.
–Over his long and storied career, Dick has won five Emmys and a Peabody Award.
–The show launched the careers of everyone from BUDDY HOLLY to the JACKSON 5 to MADONNA.

Did Angelina Jolie Cry When Brad Pitt Proposed?
We all think of ANGELINA JOLIE as an ICE QUEEN. But maybe there’s a heart in there somewhere.
–A source says Angelina, quote, “cried and smiled” when BRAD PITT proposed.
–According to “Us Weekly”, Brad gathered all the kids to watch him pop the question . . . and it quickly became a celebration.
–The source says, quote, “Everyone hugged once she put [the ring] on. She went around and showed it to each of the kids.”
–By the way . . . We initially heard that Angelina’s ring was worth $250,000 . . . half of what Brad spent on the rock he gave JENNIFER ANISTON.
–But now, several media outlets are saying Angelina’s ring is also worth $500,000.

Madonna Doesn’t Like Her Daughter’s Smoking and Admits She Needs to Be a Tougher Parent
Last month, we saw pictures of MADONNA’S 15-year-old daughter LOURDES smoking.
–And, it turns out Madonna is just like the rest of us parents: She doesn’t approve of everything her daughter does, but she can’t always be there to stop her.
–Last night on NBC’s “Rock Center”, Madonna said, quote, “I don’t think I’m as tough as I should be. I think I need to be maybe tougher. I don’t approve of anyone smoking cigarettes, most of all my daughter.”
