And it wasn’t close. Around 21.5 million people watched PHILLIP PHILLIPS win “American Idol” on Wednesday night. That’s 8 million viewers less than the last year’s season finale making it “Idol’s” least-watched finale of all time!
–Last year, 29.3 million people tuned in to see SCOTTY MCCREERY beat LAUREN ALAINA.
–The second least-watched finale was the FIRST season, when 23 million people witnessed the simultaneous birth of KELLY CLARKSON’S career . . . and the death of JUSTIN GUARINI’S.
Elton John Has a “Serious” Respiratory Infection . . . Will He Die?
ELTON JOHN was briefly hospitalized yesterday morning with a “serious respiratory infection.” Apparently, he started feeling sick during a show last Sunday night.
–His doctors gave him some antibiotics, and recommended that he rest for the next seven days. He had four shows scheduled in Las Vegas this weekend, so those had to be canceled.
Did Britney Spears Storm Off the Set of “X Factor” Because She Was Upset?
–It was Britney’s first day on the job of “XFactor” and anonymous sources claim Britney “walked off the set” because, quote, “she was upset after a contestant butchered her song, ‘Hold It Against Me’.”
–There may be another explanation.
–Another anonymous source says she wasn’t upset about the song . . . she just, quote, “needed a break.”
