–Saudi Princess MAHA al-SUDANI, was caught last week trying to sneak out of a luxury hotel in Paris without paying her $7.5 million bill.
–The hotel staff called the cops when al-Sudani tried to leave at 3:30 am with her 60-member entourage, who had taken over a 41-room floor of the Shangri-La since December. When police arrived, al-Sudani was still loading her bags into a flotilla of limousines.
–No charges were filed, probably thanks to her diplomatic immunity, and no word on how the hotel will get reimbursed.
Repairman Finds Bear In New Jersey Basement
A Cablevision technician working in Hopatcong, New Jersey discovered a sleeping 500-pound black bear in a basement.
–The man reportedly discovered the bear when he heard a growl behind him. The bear escaped the house and authorities arrived and tranquilized it.
–The owner of the house said he has no idea how the bear got into his basement or how long it could have been there, since he hadn’t been down in a while. Authorities are relocating the animal.
A Woman Runs Out of a Bank During a Robbery . . . and Accidentally Steals the Getaway Car
Last week in Houston, a woman was cashing a check at a bank when four armed robbers busted in. She panicked, sprinted out of the bank, jumped in the first car she saw, noticed the motor was running, and took off.
–Turns out it was actually the robbers’ GETAWAY car. The robbers ended up carjacking someone instead, and are still on the lam.
–The woman won’t be charged for car theft.
